Thought Starters for Holiday Activities
- Work with local Latino grocers (tiendas), restaurants and bars to hang the posters in their public spaces.
- Work with local driving schools, ESL schools (English as a Second Language), barbershops and check-cashing stores to hang posters for their Hispanic clientele to see.
- Organize candlelight vigils with churches whose congregations are primarily Hispanic. Work also with churches to display a great number of snowmen to represent the number of impaired-driving deaths in your community. This helps to visually communicate the impact of fatalities caused by impaired driving each year.
- Work with shopping malls or strip malls to decorate a Christmas tree with keys as ornaments with the message to designate a sober driver this holiday.
- Work with local law enforcement and emergency medical staff to stage a mock car crash that would result from impaired driving--at a city hall or other location and invite Hispanic media to cover the story.
